From the Santa Monica Tea Party meetup October 13th, 2013: Diana West, author of American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation's Character is our special guest (via webcam) for a jaw-dropping revelation of when, where and how, our country was betrayed. West shows how our culture has been hijacked. Traditional American beliefs have been gradually undermined and replaced with utopian theoretical doctrines born in Marxism and other esoteric ideologies: political correctness, multiculturalism the undermining of national heroes, the fracturing of shared values, the constant clatter criticizing the inadequacies of freedom and an incessant condemnation of religion. Ironically these stabs at our values match Soviet Cold War propaganda by insisting Americans are racist, chauvinistic, and imperialistic. Today, worn down by leftist claptrap, we are no longer proud and confident, our belief in ourselves run down by propaganda that highlights our inadequacies. We have accepted that our society is a failure in need of progressive improvement because we cannot live up to the utopian perfection peddled by the communists. In a presentation that will seem, part history and part political thriller, West shatters the approved histories of an era that begins with FDR's first inauguration, when "happy days" are supposed to be here again, and ends when we "win" the Cold War. It is here, amid the rubble, where Diana West focuses on the World War II--Cold War deal with the devil in which America surrendered her principles in exchange for a series of Big Lies whose preservation soon became the basis of our leaders' own self-preservation. Diana West is the author of American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation's Character (St. Martin's Press 2013), and The Death of the Grown-Up: How America's Arrested Development Is Bringing Down Western Civilization (St. Martin's Press 2007). Her weekly newspaper column is syndicated by Universal Uclick, and West also serves as Washington Correspondent for the European weekly newspaper Dispatch International. West is one of 19 co-authors (including Frank Gaffney, Andrew C. McCarthy and James Woolsey) of Shariah:The Threat to America, a 2010 publication of the Center for Security Policy, West's work has appeared in many publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, The Weekly Standard, and The Washington Post Magazine, and her fiction has appeared in the Atlantic Monthly. She has made numerous television and radio appearances, and was recently featured in the Glenn Beck TV documentaries "The Project" and "Rumors of War III."
